The Left for the Vultures Background Generator is a free companion tool to the Character Builder. It rolls a Revenant's history for Left for the Vultures, the dark fantasy tabletop roleplaying game published by Deimos Infinitum Publishing, LLC.
Left for the Vultures is a game about vengeance. Before you pick a Breed or spend a single Ash, the rules ask one question: why are you still here? Your character — a Revenant — survived something that should have finished them, and the answer to that question drives the whole campaign. This generator gives you that answer when you want a starting point rather than a blank page.
What it produces
- The wound — what was taken from your Revenant, and how
- The guilty — who did it, and what you know about them now
- A Vengeance List — the names you are hunting, the spine of a long campaign
- Deeper detail — press Deepen to push any result further into specifics
Using it at the table
Roll a background before character creation and let it steer your build, or roll one afterwards and reverse-engineer how your Revenant became what they are. Fatebinders can roll for non-player characters who want someone dead — in this setting, that is most of them.
